Week 29: Member Appreciation Week and Family Shout Out

Hey there friends it's me again. This week was long and we did lots of things. It's member appreciation week where we bring brownies to all of the members. Because they are great and sometimes people just need some brownies. 

We taught a new guy named Boris who was in the Peruvian navy and was telling us a bunch of crazy army stories. We ate chips and talked about how God is involved in our lives and how we can see it. 

We had switches in Granada for a couple days this week. My best part of the week was probably on the way there. We were sitting on the bus and heard a familiar tune. We realized that Allstar by Smashmouth was playing on the radio and we knew that there were going to be some good intercambios. Guess what? My companion for the day was my one and only trainer, Elder Hernandez. We had a good time finding some people, and teaching some people. We taught about the Restoration, which was really cool, to our Venezuelan friends--they gave us some pancakes. 

We had a little ward barbecue this week which was a good time. All of our friends showed up and we ate a lot of hot dogs. 

Had a fun time talking to my family for mother's day! Shout out to my family especially mom. A scripture that has stuck to me since the beginning of my mission was Alma 56:47. "Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them." I am grateful for the example that my mother has been to me throughout my whole life. Through that example she has taught me about diligence and to never doubt. She has also been an example of charity and patience and humility. I'm greatful for that example and all that she's always been for me. Also thankful for my Grandma and my sister Michelle because they're mothers too.
