Week 74: South Sector Puppies and a Missionary Miracle

Hello once again my gente.

Top news items of the past 2 weeks:

1)  We went to our friend Abraham's barbecue in "The South Sector" ooohhh. The south sector means sketchy ghetto town. He invited us to come one night and we said ok, and we found him with a couple other people. It was on the outskirts of town, and he had a little grill set up on the wall of an abandoned building. Also a giant speaker blasting regaton music. He had his horse tied up on the other side of the road. This girl told us to follow her into the abandoned building. And trust me, this building was reallllly abandoned. Looked like it was from the walking dead or something. We were like uhhh.. ok.. Followed her into the building.. It was dark.. And I saw the silhouette of this giant dog standing in the middle of a bunch of trash and rubble.. And then I saw it.. In the corner there was.. like 5 puppies!! Wow what a surprise a whole bunch of puppies in the abandoned building! Also the giant dog that looked like the werewolf from Harry Potter was really nice and we became friends. We went back out and ate some barbecue and talked to some of the people and lemme tell ya it was a pretty interesting experience.

2)  A miracle happened recently that was pretty miraculous. It was a chilly Friday night, and as out English class came to an end we realized that it would be impossible to reach the goals that we had set for this week. We had a thinking moment, and decided to pray, because if anyone knows how to reach goals it's God. We knew we couldn't do it all, so we got an answer on which goal we should focus on to reach. We got an answer on where to go as well. And, we went. We went in the direction that we felt was right, and ended up talking to a lady on a bench. She was super great and friendly and we made a new friend! We met soon after and had a lesson. She told us that on that same Friday night, she had been praying as well for help from God. Soon after she prayed, we showed up and asked her where we could get some donuts. Anyways, since then, we have met and discussed a lot of really important things, and yesterday she decided that she wanted to be baptized!! All because she said a prayer, and so did we. The moral of the story is that prayer works. Some times we can't just except God to answer prayers that we haven't said, because "he wants to hear it from you" said a famous song. Reminds me of a scripture in 2 Nephi 32, it says "Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark." All you have to do is ask of God!!
